The challenge
Natural wood changes the feel of an exterior, but only when the proportions, edges, and transitions are handled carefully.
Cedar finish work was used to create a warmer, more welcoming porch and give the entrance a more intentional relationship to the rest of the home.
The completed porch feels richer without becoming overly ornate.
