The challenge
The property needed a dependable route down a steep, wooded slope without making the natural setting feel overly built up.
The staircase was planned as a sequence of comfortable runs and landings. Composite construction, black railing, and integrated lights provide safer evening use while keeping the visual language quiet and consistent.
The finished staircase does more than connect the home to the lake. It becomes a strong feature of the property after sunset and feels appropriate to the wooded surroundings.
